Nathaniel Hall is a graduate student studying furniture design at °®¶¹´«Ã½.

1. Why did you choose °®¶¹´«Ã½?

Many people do not know of °®¶¹´«Ã½'s reputation in their graduate furniture design program. It is one of the best in the country and is very competitive. I came here because of Wendy Maruyama who is a professor here, and also its geographic location. I'm from Buffalo, New York — Southern California is a pretty nice climate to live in!

2. What inspired you to declare your major?

I love to make work that is not only seen but also serves a purpose and function. My work ends up in the houses of humans, and they develop a loving relationship with my functional work.

3. Which °®¶¹´«Ã½ faculty or staff member has been the most influential throughout your °®¶¹´«Ã½ journey?

4. What experience at °®¶¹´«Ã½ has changed your life the most?

Taking the digital fabrication classes in the School of Art and Design. It is a way of working that I have been wanting to learn and drastically increases my skillset and is taking my work in new and exciting directions.

5. What has been your proudest achievement while at °®¶¹´«Ã½?

Being cast and competing in Spike TV's new reality furniture build show, "" on television now!

6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Teaching furniture design at a major university and producing the most amazing work that I am capable of.

7. What’s your favorite thing about being an Aztec?

All the beautiful people that make up this large student body. I love walking through campus on my way to The Habit for an ice cream cone. On the way I get to view all the beautiful people.
