Three Aztecs Named to All-Region Team
CJ Fodrey was named to the Second Team while Blake Bowen and Jacob Castro were third team selections. This is the first time since 2016 that °®¶¹´«Ã½ has had three or more all-region selections.
SAN DIEGO – Three members of the Aztec men's soccer team were named to the United Soccer Coaches Far West All-Region Teams. CJ Fodrey was named to the Second Team while Blake Bowen and Jacob Castro were third team selections. This is the first time since 2016 that °®¶¹´«Ã½ has had three or more all-region selections.
Fodrey (San Diego) is the first Aztec freshman to make the All-Region Team since Pablo Pelaez in 2016. Fodrey, the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, had a team-high 18 points, the most by a °®¶¹´«Ã½ freshman since at least 2000. He finished the year with seven goals, two of which were game-winners, and four assists.
Bowen (San Clemente, Calif.) was the only Aztec to start all 18 matches and his three goals in Pac-12 play tied for the team lead. He was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team last month.
